Jefferson Cort Civic Association

I wanted to start a topic that would allow everyone who lives in Jefferson Cort to post comments and suggestions on what they think would make our neighborhood a better place to live.

These could be things you notice in the neighborhood, things that bother you, things you would like to see in our neighborhood, etc.

Maybe if we get things out in the open, it could make things better for everyone?

I think the golf carts, motocross/dirt bike and four wheelers are getting out of hand. When the adults drive the golf carts, it's okay as long as they're going a reasonable speed. It's when the kids have eight or so on board and they're speeding up and down the street screaming that is the problem. When it snowed a few weeks ago, a young guy was practically doing donuts coming off of Forest. That is pretty much the only issue.

A suggestion would be a playground for the kids. I was wondering if there's any area that this could be done in. I don't know if donations can be made or how much is in the pot for our association fees.

I agree with you about the four wheelers and dirt bikes. Residents have been told many times in the JCCA newsletters that this is illegal and they continue to ride them on our streets. They are also very dangerous and noisy.

I have a suggestion.

Being that I just moved-in in August, I have noticed that the drainage ditch on Forest really smells terrible. We have closed ours in with culverts. I dont know if the parish could consider closing them in but it would help with the smell and mosquitoes AND snakes.
