It's 6:15 Saturday morning July 5 (after a long night of fireworks, thunderstorms and celebration) and a Waste Management truck woke my wife and I up after barrelling in and out of our cul de sac to pick up "a few" cans. Two questions:
1. Did they come this early on a Saturday morning to make up for the Friday holiday?
2. Why would anyone in the neighborhood use Waste Management when Rumpke is not only preferred by the neighborhood association, but much much cheaper? If the answer is "because we've always used Waste Management" then it's time to consider switching. WM's # to cancel is 888-964-9721. Rumke's phone # to add you as a customer is 800-678-6753. Just tell them you live in Jefferson Trace and you'll get the association rate. I think it's almost half the cost.
If we continue as a neighborhood to have many waste disposal companies then we'll continue to have more obnoxious trucks coming in and out of the neighborhood different days of the week. This means more noise, more drippings in the streets, odors, etc... and more often. It just doesn't make sense.
If WM offers something that Rumpke doesn't then let's discuss our needs with Rumpke.
Thank you.
