EARTH DAY MONTH & JCS IN THE PAWTUXET RIVER VALLEY

     

        JCS LAUNCH EARTH DAY MONTH AS RECOGNIZED

In kicking-off their traditional Open Space Programming with a month full of EARTH DAY activities, the Central Rhode Island JCS.

 

In announcing their EARTH DAY MONTH schedule, the JCS will be holding a series of events starting on Saturday, April 25th, where their Central J C S in concert with multi-groups EARTH DAY Committee (currently there is no official statewide organization), are sponsoring community wide clean ups and beautification projects. All volunteers and participants are asked to contact the JCS for approximate details or answering any public inquiries.

 

Additionally, the JCS are encouragingall friends, families, groups, schools, governments to place E-Waste Collection Bins to capture all recycled cell phones at numerous sites.

 

It's estimated 100 Million cell phones are thrown out annually in the United States landing in our landfills or shipped overseas creating TOXIC Wastelands. Cell phones and batteries are some of the largest contributors of toxic substances to our landfills.
 
Then, on Saturdayday, April 25, the JCS & Students will celebrate ARBOR Day from 11:Am - 2:Pm.

 

The JCS also encourage the public to join them on Saturday, May 09th from 10:Am - 3:Pm for their 16th annual ECOLOGY DAYS Festival. All events will take place at the award-winning JCS Corridor & Arboretum along the West Bay Bikepath (Rhode Island Greenway). Contact the JCS for their season long schedule!
