A stealth burglar, who's entered several unlocked homes this week, taking mostly wallets, may have been scoping out homes again this morning, prompting Wauwatosa police to warn residents to lock their doors, even if they're home or outside working.
Police were called to the 2200 block of N. 66th St. around 9 a.m. today on a report of a man cutting through residents' yards.
Police chased him through several yards and believe he may have gotten into a small gray convertible with a black top, circa 1980s to '90s.
A suspect hit at least two homes, near N. 77th St. and Wisconsin Ave. and N. 77th and Wells streets, earlier this week and eluded police near Pasadena and Meineke on Thursday, Wauwatosa Police Lt. Dominic Leone said.
Police last week notified residents about a rash of burglaries in the neighborhoods along N. 60th and N. 80th St.
