I would like the City Council to consider regulating signs placed in the yards of our neighborhood. I realize ''home for sale'' signs are special. But, signs left by home improvement companies, or personal political signs are unsightly. And, why do political signs need to be displayed in our yards months before the elections? Can we not limit them to 3 or 4 weeks?

Yard Signs
Thank you for your interest in keeping our city beautiful. At the August 2007 City Council meeting, the Council passed a very specific sign ordinance that addresses both commercial and political signs. The complete ordinance is on the City?’s web site and in the August-September 2007 issue of the newsletter which will be delivered to residents within the next few days. Again, thank you for your comments. |

Yard Signs
Thank you for responding to my concerns about the yard signs. But, I'm not clear on the political sign ordinance. Two of my neighbors have had signs ''Bring our Troups Home'' - one with Breshear and Conway displayed in the wording - in their yards for 2 or 3 months. Whether I agree or disagree, they are unsightly to our neighborhood (Dartmoor). How long will they be allowed to display these? |
