i couldn't agree with you more. Give me grass anyday over someone's idea of ''easement scaping.'' These people need to get their gardening ''fix'' in their own yards and stop pushing it in our faces. These people need to get a life.

I totally Agree

Yes, we need our mayor, council, and legal counsel like a hole in the head. What do we actually get? We have more police and police cruisers than some third world countries! Once I called 911 and guess who showed up? A city of Louisville Metro police cruiser! And the trash pickup? I can PAY for the few times a year I need a special pickup, the city of L'vlle will also provide trash pickup! So....what gives here? Why do we need a mayor (who thinks she is Hitler) and a bunch of commissioners who can't stand up to her, much less state their own cases????? We should HASTEN the merger with Louisville. We could/might even save on taxes. Of course, the arrogant Englishman on the commission would state otherwise. Since he keeps the books, why not (hmmmmmmmm????????)? I say we have a referendum to do COMPLETELY away with local government, class 6 style. It's an abomination!!!!

Thoughtful discussion?

When I read this post, I looked forward to reading a thoughtful discussion in which the pro's and con's of being in a 6th class city were discussed. That has not yet happened.

Does anyone have a solid comparison of tax information to share? A list of the benefits of 6th class over Metro, or vice-versa? Enough accusations and name calling have been offered, so if anyone can change the direction of this conversation with helpful information, I would love to read it.

A list of benefits of the 6th class vs. merging into Metro?  That would be a hard list to come up with as there are NONE. 

 

The taxes are a wash as we already pay the state and county PLUS the SV rate vs the State and Metro amounts.

 

Maybe the fact that there are several people who are PAID (i.e. mayor, all commisioners, lawyer, police, etc.) is why we still have this anachronistic government in existence?
