HOA General Meeting - No Quorum

Posted in: Kriewald Place

Here is what you missed:

Mrs. Brown from Pro-Comm made the announcement that Quorum was NOT.  While we could not do any voting for the business on hand, we could carry on with the meeting.  We could not vote for President or Vice President and could not approve the minutes from the last meeting.  According to the governing documents we must hold another General meeting (at HOA expense) within 30 calendar days.  Meeting scheduled for April 7, 2011 at 7 PM at Mary Michael Elementary.

Attorney from Earl and Associates was present to discuss and answer any questions regarding the status of street repairs and neighborhood amenities.

An award was given to Dan And Karen Peaslee to recognize and show our appreciation for thier outstanding volunteerism over the years.

President's report - CiCi Houston:

1. Reminded homeowners about the importance of paying thier assessments on time.

2. Asked for Volunteers, our community cannot remain a safe place for our families to grow and live in without volunteers.

3. Reminded homeowners about following the CC&Rs  so that we do not have to needlessly send out reminders at a charge to the HOA.

4. Reminded all those in attendance about the day of inspections being done on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday each month.

Beautification Committee - Debra Vaughn:
1. We have implemented the Yard f the Quarter and Year Programs.
2. this year we have consolidated all landscaping contracts from 3 seperate
companies down to 1 (Hill Horticulture)  This has so far improved the common
area maint. by providing more uniform reults in a more timely manner with a less
overall cost.
3. Grafitti clean-up costs have been reduced from OVER $4000 last fiscal year to
less than $100 this fiscal year thanks to our outstanding volunteers, Dan and
Karen Peaslee.

Communications Committee - Debra Vaughn:
1. Small announcements/notices posted on Mailboxes in order to reduce overall
costs of announcements including mailing printing etc.
2. Urgent notices will be posted on front doors by community volunteers.  These
notices are limited to the target areas Ex: the notices regarding the reward
were blanketed over the back 1/2 of the neighborhood but not the front since the
grafitti is happening in the back, not the front.  This makes it cost effective
and with so few volunteers less stressful.
We are asking for block captains that would be willing to hand out the fliers if
needed on thier street.
3. Newsletters come out twice a year via the mail.
4. The website is updated monthly and the discussions section is monitored by
myself and the other volunteers.
5. We have recently set up a facebook page (search for Kriewald Place)
6. The hope is to increase knowledge of the happenings in our community as well
as increase the communication between the board members and homeowners in the
community.
7.  We are STILL trying to get a physical community notices board (for posting
things like missing and found pets and other neighborhood wide announcements)

Civics Committee - Debra Vaughn:
1. Annual Yard Sale - received approval from Sivage homes to use the field on
Shorebird and Krie Trail. Reminded all present that any injury incurred while on the lot will be at thier own risk and they may not hold Sivage Homes or the HOA responsible.
All people that are in good standing will get a "spot" for free all others as well as those from Amberwood will have to pay a nominal fee to set up shop there... otherwise having it in your driveway will be acceptable and still advertised.  The Civics committee will be requesting $100 up front from the Board to cover advertising costs in the newspaper/weekender as well as signs.  Requesting Volunteers to put the signs out and make hotdogs/drinks etc.  Without volunteers this will not happen.  IF we get
Volunteers for the HOA fundraiser portion, we will ask for monies to cover the
actual expense of food and drinks.

2. Volunteers needed to plan and operate the National Night Out party (October 4, 2011.)  We have not had it in 2 years due to lack of volunteers.  This is a party that will need to begin the planning stage ASAP.  All supplies and food will be paid for by the
HOA

3. Considering a 4th of July celebration (in the field) and once again will need
Volunteers to help plan, cook and serve. All supplies and food will be paid for
by the HOA. Will also need to begin the planning phase ASAP.

Safety Committee - Dan Peaslee:

1. Reminded homeowners about the posted reward to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for tagging inside the neighborhood.

2. Asked those present to please slow down on neighborhood streets as it is dangerous to those that may be playing walking etc.

3. Keep your dogs in your yard, not roaming the nighborhood.

4. Officer Flores from Bexar County COP Program was present to give information about the COP program.

5. Recruited Volunteers.  More volunteers for the Kriewald Place COP means a safer place to live for everyone.

Thanks for the note on roaming pets, people think that since they have small pets that they can walk themselves.  Not true! I'm tired of finding dog feces in my yard because people are not respectful of others property.

Also this is a neighborhood not a disco.  Turn that loud music down! PLEASE!!!!

All I can say is... AMEN!!!!!
