UPDATE – Mother & Son Arrested for Fraudulent Use of Personal Identification and Credit Card Fraud – Son was arrested for numerous Vehicle Burglaries

 

 

 

On Thursday, November 11, 2010,nine vehicle burglaries were reported to PBSO from north end of Lake Worth. All occurred on the same day during the same time frame with the same modus operandi (unlocked vehicle doors) and in the same vicinity. 

 

    

 

On Wednesday, November 17, 2010 through follow up investigation it was discovered that suspect (s) used and or attempted to use three of the reported stolen credit cards from two separate victims (one male and one female) at the Wellington Green mall. See pictures of suspects below.

 

 

 

On Friday, November 19, 2010, Deputies identified the W/M suspect as Barid Bigbee, DOB: 5/07/92. The W/F suspect was identified as Bigbee’s mother, Krista Chapin. It should be noted that Chapin used the female stolen credit cards while Bigbee used the male stolen credit card.

 

 

 

On November 23, 2010, detectives responded to Bigbee’s girlfriend’s house. The girlfriend was able to show detectives where suspect Bigbee was staying, 3333 Rostan Lane, Palm Springs.  Detectives responded to Rostan Lane where Bigbee and Chapin were taken into custody without incident.   

 

 

 

Detectives interviewed suspects Chapin and Bigbee.  Both confessed to fraudulent use of personal identification, and credit card fraud. Bigbee also confessed to all nine vehicle burglaries. All nine cases cleared by arrest. Suspect Bigbee also confessed to a tenth vehicle burglary which occurred in the south end of the city on 11/14/10.

 

 

 

On November 14, 2010 there was a second rash of vehicle burglaries in the south end of the city. All occurred on the same day during the same time frame with the same modus operandi (unlocked vehicle doors) and in the same vicinity. More charges pending.
