LBWN is a non-profit neighborhood organization, founded in 1995 by the School Sisters of Saint Francis, dedicated to revitalizing the neighborhoods of Silver City, Burnham Park, and Layton Park. Our neighborhood is proud to be a Milwaukee Healthy Neighborhood, an initiative started by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation with strong support from the City of Milwaukee.
As a Healthy Neighborhood, LBWN works closely with neighbors, business owners, and other partners to ensure the neighborhood is a safe, welcoming community to live, work, and raise a family.
The Layton Boulevard West Neighborhood is a vibrant community where the people are as diverse as the architecture- Milwaukee Arts and Crafts Bungalows, Victorian worker’s cottages, brick colonials, and houses designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and Russell Barr Williamson. The turn-of-the-century homes, featuring German craftsmanship, unique architectural detail with unmatchable quality, and beautiful stained glass windows offer as sense of pride to the community and an attraction to homebuyers from all aspects of life. With its close proximity to everything a Milwaukeean would want to do - dine and shop at international restaurants and markets, jump on the freeway only two minutes away, explore Miller Park, or take a bike ride downtown- it is definitely the next up and coming, trendy neighborhood!
