Wow, these forums are fiesty!

My question is simple, hopefully:
Is it within the HOA's authority to do something about the condition of 2351 Limestone? The mailbox appears to have sunk into the ground, and leans like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The yard seems in constant disarray, etc. My main concern is the mailbox. What an eyesore! I'm surprised USPS delivers mail there. If it is an issue of money, I will front the $20 for a new post from Lowes.

Thanks in advance,

Why don't you go over and talk with your neighbor? Maybe they are having problems(medical, etc..)!

I would have gone over first, before posting thier address for everyone to see. Why don't you offer to fix it?

How would you feel?

Rental Property?

I agree that perhaps we shouldn't post addresses on the website, but instead contact the HOA directly to see about what is being done about enforcing the covenant. Not singling out homes helps keep neighborhood tension down. As you said, our discussion board is a little feisty, as you found out.

As for this property, they're not having any medical problems. Today they were out playing basketball, like they do most days. I do believe it is a rental property, so we'd need to contact the owner anyways, not the tenants. The tenants have no obligation to the HOA to follow covenant restrictions, only the owner does.

We'll look into this violation and hopefully contact the owner ASAP regarding the mailbox and overgrown landscaping.

I did not wish to cause a confrontation between the residents at this property and myself by knocking on their front door to discuss with them my distaste for how they upkeep their property.
I would never let my property look like that, so I can not comment on how I would feel.

To the response that was productive in nature, and actually had an answer to my question: Thank you.
