Hi Pipo, welcome to the website! To my knowledge I dont know of anyone working on getting neighborhood cats neutered or spayed. I know my own cat is spayed as are several neighbors who own cats.. however I dont' know that anyone is in a position to go scooping up feral cats and getting them neutered. Do you have ideas towards this? Thanks |

Thanks for your concern about these poor, neglected animals. There is an organization in the Brandon area of Hillsborough County that may be able to help, or at least may be able to refer you to someone who can: PAWS As an added note we can all help this organization in the following manner -- it will only cost a postage stamp: PAWS collects Purina weight circles!! |

Hillsborough County has a program but you have to trap the cat, take it to Humane Society, and they will neuter and microchip the cat. After 2 days you pick it up and return it to exactly the place where it was trapped. The cost is $10.00. You can read all about it if you Google Feral Cats. It's amazing the statistics they have, and information about their colonies, etc. I don't mind trying to trap them but I didn't want to interfere if someone was already doing it. When I moved here there was a momma and 2 kitties, too young to be on their own. I tried to get the babies but she moved them. Now one of the babies has 3 kitties herself. It is very sad to me that they are on their own. I will contact PAWS and see if they have any advice.
