lets make sure when someone is hurt or they might even try pregency.  call the police or anbulace, don't give them any money orlet them inside .  they might try to distract U as someon else is getting in the house and trying to rob U.  let the policeor any offical or ambulance help people out. they might even ask for money that they will work for the next day don't do it,  they probably won't be back.

excellent advice and thanks for posting this reminder! This is the latest scam that's been going on for a while - someone will knock at your door and tell you "my wife is in the car around the corner, she's in labor and I ran out of gas" then they'll ask for money, even $5.  People's typical nature to want to help will give the person the money and off they go.  Another good one that's happened in our neighborhood in the recent past is an adult will come to the door w/the child, say the child has to use the bathroom and while the kid is in the potty, the adult is ripping you off.  Do not open your doors to anyone, I dont' even mess w/solicitors.  Times are tight and people are getting desperate!  Things have been quiet around here lately, but that doesn't mean you let your guard down.
