Livengood Hills is a semi-rural neighborhood in Douglas county Colorado. We have dirt roads (when it's dry) and more stars in our skies than our city dwelling neighbors. We are close to the night time glow that Denver puts out and our view of the front range is exceptional. Our neighborhood sits just back of the rim of the basin that Denver occupies. A low ridge hides the city and tall grass seems to wave right up to the foothills.
Developments are sprouting all around us. Inspiration Rd, the nearest paved road will be improved soon. The waving grass has become houses in the Rocking Horse development. Thankfully building has been slower than they anticipated. The new owners have changed the community plan (again) and there will be less homes and more open space.
Despite the onslaught of developments, we still have good neighbors; people who care about one another and the neighborhood they live in, people who will lend a hand when one is needed. The environment may change, but the heart of the village is still intact.
