The Board Responsibility
The boards first and formost repsonsibility is to the neighborhood as a whole. I don't know if you were at the meeting or not on Sunday but the budget has been posted and if you read it.. You can clearly see that the funds are not availible to purchase one at this time... Yes it's been on the back burner for sometime and the flame is still hot and the board STILL can not afford one...

If you had read the message carefully, you would have realized that the Board needs to look at the addition of another fountain. It was neither stated that they had the money to do this nor was it stated that they are required to do this. Perhaps a compromise can be reached or perhaps we will all enjoy smelling dead fish this summer. The Board needs to be included in such issues and they should have the last word--not Nikki

To Anonymous whomever you are
I'm sorry that I was not clearer for you... The board as a whole has visited this issue not once... not twice... NOT EVEN THREE TIMES... and we still can't afford it...
I'm happy to say that the board will have the last word on this and the out come will still be the same... ATPOA still will be unable to afford one...
As for the smell of rotten fish in the summer... hummmmmm.... I haven't had that experience yet... The home owners on my end of the lake are willing to foot the bill for our lake clean up and maintance maybe the other end should do the same...
Oh btw... do you live on the lake???

Cart before the horse?
First off let me congratulate all the new board members for I am confident they have everyone's best interest (financial interest) in mind. To all of our neighbors that were not elected, please do not feel dismayed over the election results, for your volunteerism and support is still needed in other capacities.
Lets visit the fountain issue. It is an issue; due to the poor state that it is in. Before we (the Hood)rush out and purchase a fountain, cause that would make us feel good (am I right? Spending money makes us all feel good...LOL); lets look at our problem and fix the problem.
The smaller lake in particular (AKA Fred's Lake...sorry Fred) is the lowest of lakes for it allows overflow to drain out. If the small lake can be adjusted to retain more water (ie.. build a small dyke in front of the 2 large drain culverts) but still have a overflow into the drainage, then this would add more water to all lakes and a fountain would be able to aerate and help control some of the problems associated with that lake. Without addressing the waters level and fixing it, then we are investing money for bling-bling that will not work for its intended purpose. (Have you ever seen a mud fountain?)
I beleive the board is in touch with the proper engineer type folks and are working the issue. Be patient!
If anyone would like to donate more monies over their association dues to cover the added costs of projects big and small; then let your purse/wallet do the talking. Don't stop there either, most of us work for large companies that can donate supplies / monies even utility services if we solicit them properly.
This year, let's make a difference!
Best wishes to everyone, see you around the block.
