The EPA is requiring the county to install 3 pairs of additional monitoring wells related to protecting groundwater quality connected to the Army Creek Landfill Superfund Site. Work will start in front of 106 Gordy during the week of February 6th. Drilling will occur in the DELDOT ROW, but inside the curb line in the grassy area where other utilities are run. Drilling will occur for about a week and at the end, there will be (2) 2x2 pads left with small metal caps for accessing the wells. Following the work in front of 106 Gordy Place, the drillers will move to the other two locations at 209 Sterling Avenue and then 309 Sterling Avenue. There may be periodic road closures throughout the project, but homeowners will have continual access to their driveways.
Rolf Hill of Ruth Associates will be the project mamager for this work and can answer any specific questions about the project. He can be reached at 410-934-0611 or drolfhill@gmail.com.
