There are two sets of tan, iron, swinging driveway gates on the north end of 10th st., just south of Fairmont Ave (on the west side of 10th st) that are constantly being left open, reaching out at least three ft. into the street. These gates are a hazard as they blend in with the surroundings and have no reflectors, bright colors, signs etc. to help drivers become aware that the gates are open, in the middle of the road. I drive down 10th street on a daily basis and have several times had to swerve my car out of the way in order to avoid hitting them and most likely, causing severe damage to my vehicle. Instead of filing a complaint with the police department, I thought this may be a more amicable way to get the message out. I can assure the homeowner that if I hit those gates with my car because I don't see them and they are obstructing the road, I would have no choice but to hold the homeowner 100% liable for any damage to my vehicle (which will be expensive, as all vehicle repairs typically are). As we would both like to avoid this unfortunate situation from ever occuring, PLEASE CLOSE YOUR GATES at all times, as they obstruct a public road and are dangerous for all unsuspecting drivers.
