Do you find yourself searching the Yellow Pages, interrogating friends, and seeking your own ''personal shopper'' at Home Depot in an attempt to find the goods and services you need to maintain, repair, and renovate your home? Does your search for a reliable painter, carpenter, or plumber remind you of your last venture to the blackjack tables in Las Vegas?
Well, your friends at the BHNA know exactly how you feel. None of us wants to squander our hard-earned dollars on substandard work, sloppily delivered, with crummy materials destined to fall apart, even while we juggle the balance on our Visa cards. So, we have decided to launch a new feature in the quarterly newsletter: a list of local vendors, culled from your suggestions.
Of course, for liability reasons, the BHNA can neither endorse nor recommend these service people?—but we will be glad to pass the word on to our membership. We hope that this information can serve as the starting point for that construction, gardening, or maintenance project you have been toying with for weeks, months, or even years, waiting for just the ''right person'' to hire for the job.
To bolster our BHNA funds, we will be asking a $20 fee for each contractor?’s listing. If you have names to recommend, please contact Cass Pulley, at 562.433-7753, so that she can get in touch with them. Good luck on all of your spring projects!
