The district office of Assembly Member Jack Scott is currently accepting
nominations for the 2000 Women in Business Awards Luncheon, which will
be held on Friday, September 8, 2000. Nominees must conduct business in
at least one of the following communities: Altadena, Arcadia, Eagle
Rock, Glendale, Kagel Canyon, La Ca?±ada, La Crescenta, Lake View
Terrace, Montrose, Pasadena, San Gabriel, San Marino, Shadow Hills,
Sunland, Temple City & Tujunga. Nominations are currently being accepted
for the following six categories:
Businesswoman of the Year:
A woman who owns or operates a business and has demonstrated exemplary
skill and leadership in her field.
Junior Businesswoman of the Year:
A woman under the age of 30 who owns or operates a business and has
demonstrated exemplary skill and leadership in her field.
Employee of the Year:
A female employee, in any field and at any level, who has demonstrated
exemplary skill and leadership.
Empowerment Award:
A male or female-owned business that has made an exceptional effort to
provide high level positions to women.
Community Service Award:
A male or female-owned business that contributes significant time and/or
money for the benefit of women.
Most Inspirational:
A woman who has overcome serious obstacles on her road to become a
leader in today?’s business community.
