The General Membership Meeting last night, July 2, 07 erupted into a final SEPARATION of the WRIGLEY ASSOCIATION and DAISY LANE CHRISTMAS TRADITION. The truth of it, is that the former Board of Directors had already voted to cast out DAISY LANE at their Board Meeting and taken the choice of the Members and their vote away from the Membership.
As a new incoming Board Member, thrilled with the trust and confidence votes from Members, having been elected to the Board last month, I was appalled at the deceit and denial that this was already decided. The former, outgoing President stood and stated that that had not happened, yet. Then, a Member asking about who approved the $3000.00 ( actually $4000.00)expenditure for an attorney was not given a qualified answer and was told it would be addressed ''at the next meeting''. Remember, these were our dollars-- paid out for what? Once again-- put off. Another Member asked if the attorney was still being retained by the WRIGLEY ASSOCIATION, Again doubletalk-- hedging and skirting the truth--all the while I sat there knowing what had been decided at the
last (my first) closed Board Meeting.
By accepting the trusted position on the Board of Directors I was taking the personal responsibility of acting with integrity-- ''acting at the discretion and of the Members'' on all matters.
Therefore, in good conscience I cannot be a party to willful and outright deceit nor give support to their personal devious agendas with their personal slanderous attacks on honest, dedicated volunteers. They have brought such discord to our beloved community and unhappiness to our hearts, so I am resigning as a Board Member-- as well as a Member of the WRIGLEY ASSOCIATION. I cannot waste my time, amd I'm looking forward to Daisy Lane once again providing a real and NEW non profit with By-laws that are effective and observed, where Members are respected.
If you didn?’t get to the Meeting and are a Member, you are welcome to call me for more facts: 562-427-2372.
