What do you think about using a ''discussion'' format rather than ''mass E-mail''?

If you live in this area, you probably know we accomplish a lot by sending E-mail to the approprate city departments and blind-copying many local residents.

A ''discussion'' posting requires someone to find the discussion and specifically choose it. Obviously this will not happen with city officials. Whereas when they recieve an E-mail, they are almost ''forced'' to read it, and if ''copied'' to their boss, they know they have to respond if it is their department's responcibility.

Most people check there E-mail at least once a month, but how often do they check for ''discussions''? How do they know what is most ergent and relivant to them?

Also, on E-mail, we can add as many photos as we need to emphisis the conditions - but on the discussion format, we have no ability to post photos.

(Another issue is ''spell checking'', but the text can always be written elsewhere and ''pasted'' in).

So, What do you think? Should we try to copy relivant E-mail to the ''discussion'' board?
