Anonymous text tips can be submitted from any text-enabled cell phone, with a cell phone plan that allows text messaging. To start your session: 1) Enter CRIMES (274637) in the address for a text message. 2) Type TIPLA, followed by a space, and then your tip information. 3) Press the SEND button to send the message. 4) You will receive a response from Crime Stoppers shortly, which will start a text dialogue. Your message will be encrypted and your identifying information will removed. Your tip will be sent to the proper agency without revealing your identity. 5) After you finish your session, we recommend you erase all messages sent to and received from 274637 for your safety. Remember, this is an anonymous program. However, if you wish to opt out of any further contact regarding your tip, you may text the message “STOP” to CRIMES (274637). You will receive a onetime opt-out confirmation message. If you need help on using the text messaging system, you may text the message “HELP” to CRIMES (274637) for program information. This will provide assistance with tip program, it will not contact a law enforcement agency. Remember, if this is an emergency, call 911. There is no cost to participate in the program.
