Too many meetings last nite for me so I never got to the Preservation Society meeting, but hopefully Pat or others will report.
I have talked to more people who are shocked at the loss of historic heritage as even a possibility.

On another note.....there is currently at ad running for "apartment rentals at 11 Walnut Street, Pawtucket".....Pawtucket Apartment Search Results - Pawtucket Apartments for Rent in Pawtucket, RI is this something new??
I think it's just a catch-all website that is listing the nursing home as "apartments." The phone number is the same as the old Weeden Manor number. |

hello everyone........since my original posting on this neighborhood site, there has been much discussion and many questions in this community pertaining to our historic properties. The Preservation Society of Pawtucket (PSP) voted last night on supporting and getting behind Quality Hill resident Joe Asermely and his overall quest on preserving Pawtucket's historic buildings - not only in Quality Hill - but throughout the city. There are apparently 180 historic properties to date in the City of Pawtucket. There will be another neighborhood meeting (very soon!) to continue this conversation - and that date will be posted on this site. The 'apartment for rent' ad was also noticed by others - and it is unclear if the assisted living facility had been offering apartments for rent up until its closure. Stay tuned! if you would like to be added to my email list, please contact me! |

Together would be cool and nice that we have so many but we sure should save as many as we can for our future folks to learn and enjoy too Maybe the real estate folks might have some ideas to sell some in a creative way too |
