We have had 2 separate incidents in our neighborhood were dogs have wandered away from home. Each time, the local neighbors have called the numbers on the dog tags, only to find out that the numbers have been disconnected and that the address is no longer valid. Until we get to know each other better as a community, it would be in every pet owners interest to update your pets dog tags. We all would love to have our pets returned to us promptly if they were ever found wandering off. The only way for this to happen is to ensure that the correct information is displayed on the dog tags.

I too agree!!  I have a black/grey tabby cat that goes outside often, however, he is constantly losing his collar.  I replace it, then find he loses it again in about a week (I have gone through 8 collars since we moved in here in september).  If he bothers you and you see no collar, please let me know!  He answers to chip chip, but probably won't even come near you since he tends to hide in the bathroom cupboards when new people come around.  Thanks for setting up the site!
