I believe that would depend on what city and state you are from.  My female black cat left my house on 11/22/12 and never came home.  She was wearing a red dog collar with a red rabies tag on it and has a very horse, weak meow, like she has a problem with her vocal cords.  She has a few white hairs on her chest in a faint star pattern and has also been spayed.  I have filed a lost pet report with the local Humane Society recently.  Have you found a cat matching that description?

I lost a cat around that time... She was a garage cat.... If you could send me pictures and maybe if you sent her to a shelter, tell me where?? Thanks!
