Although Lennox is a problem, so is Park Timbers Drive. Where would you put the guard shack? Unless it's near the first intersection, you are inviting an accident to happen as cars get stacked up on DeGaulle. As for Lennox, because of the park and Lakewood Estates, you can't put it there. Everglades is wide enough, but do those homeowners want a guard shack by their homes? Video? Like the toll tag cameras? Possible. How's about a regular patrol? By the way, how many homes are in the neighborhood?

Jerry,

You are right about the difficulties with ''guard shacks'' at Park Timbers Drive, Lennox, and/or Everglades. Even if we were somehow able to get over the physical limitations, the costs to make the changes would be prohibitive unless we got additional financial support via a special taxing district. I consider that somewhat of a long shot, but it might be a possibility as a way to raise additional funds for additional patroling.

We are looking into cameras, but our preliminary view is that it too would be quite expensive and labor intensive. Major issues are where to set up, where to feed the video, and who will maintain it and change the tapes. In general, it may not have a favorable cost-to-benefit ratio.

We are exploring some options for expanding our security patrols. That is the easiest, but still costs are an issue, We may have to consider seeking homeowners' authorization to increase our annual maintenance dues above the current maximum of $120/year.

Park Timbers has approximately 355 homes.
