First of all, I just didn't guess. Second of all, who is saying that I don't have the BEST attorney available on retainer.

Also, being the 5th family to buy a home in this community, I was here when the ravine or ditch was put up to code in the first place. Also, there is not a law or covenence that can force a person to sue their own side. I stand to say that I am on Jon Saye's side of the court room, and I support his position on this matter.
There is not an engineer that would have passed the inpection of the ditch had it have not been up to code.

The city of Shreveport did not pass the ditch, that is the problem! As for your best attorney in Shreveport, I thought you were going on Monday, if you did in fact go then you would know by now that you do indeed have to pay all dues, fees, assessments or whatever you want to call them! I am not on anyones side and did not vote for the assessment but I know that the law does in deed state that I will pay them OR i will have leins against me.

All of your comments above are totally irrelevant to the issue of whether you can refuse to pay a legally enacted and legally voted on special assessment and NOT get a lien placed on your property. Doesn't matter whose side you are on, IF the assessment is legal and IF it received the legal majority assent, and IF you still refuse to pay, any lien placed on your property will be legal and valid and not released until the lien total is satisfied.

By the way, when assessments are not paid by date due, penalties and other fees are added, so you will not only have to pay the original special assessment (IF it is assessed and you still refuse to pay) but ALSO any additional fees and penalties.

Have your BEST attorney on retainer explain it to you.
