On 05-31-04 a report was made to Metro Police Adam District that two unknown males with black shie masks had approached two young girls in the 10,000 block of Ballardsville road area. The suspects were armed with a knife and placed it to one of the girls head. Neither suspect said anything, they ran between two houses and drove away in what is described as a orange truck. The investigation is still pending, any other information will be passed on.
We will post updates as we receive them. Please be aware of your surroundings. We are aware that many children play in the creek area. This is where this crime reportedly happened.

POSSIBLE SIGHTING
On the concern of the latest incident concerning the young girls at the creek,I did notice two young men in a late model orange pickup truck that same day parked at the 10,000 block of Hite Creek. At first I thought they were putting handbills in the mailboxes, but they did look suspicious because they sped away very quickly.I only saw the driver of the vehicle and he was about 18 or 19 years old with very short strawberry blond hair almost a military type cut.He was very short and stalky weighing probably 220 lbs and standing about 5''7 or 5''8.I don't know if either of these young men fit the description but they looked like they were up
to something.I got an extremely good look at the driver, but didn't see the passenger at all.

I will be watching...
As a resident in Silver Creek for 6 1/2 years and a mother of a 6 year old girl who plays outside all the time, I applaud our neighborhood for the quick relay of information. I recieved a call from my neighbor Tuesday and then recieved the notice on my door Wednesday. I have always bragged on our family friendly neighborhood to my friends and have always felt safe here. This latest event has sent a wake up call to my family.
No matter where we live we must look out for our children, they are vulnerable targets.
I hope our community will not just hang up block watch signs, but will actively be watching, I know I will.
I hope the girls involved are doing well. I can only sympathize with the family going through this ordeal. God Bless You.
