I Own a Bike and I Ride It Some
I own a bike that I keep at my Dad's house. My Dad and I enjoy riding our bikes together all over Louisville. We are looking forward to riding with the Mayor and other community members on Sept. 5th as part of the Healthy Hometown program sponsored by Mayor Jerry Abramson. More to follow on this discussion after the ride :-) Hope everyone enjoys the Labor Day weekend! By Lisa Curran Colvin |

Mayor's Healthy Hometown
Today, Sept. 5, 2005, my Dad and I rode our bicycles 15.5 miles in Mayor Abramson's 2nd annual Bike and Hike - an event that is part of the Mayor's Healthy Hometown program. We rode from Slugger Field to Iroqois Park, down first, over to third, through the streets of Old Louisville, around Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, past the University of Louisville to the Iroqois Ampitheatre, and back to Slugger Field via 2nd Street. The weather was perfect, and we had a great time! By Lisa Curran Colvin |

Ride Waterfront Park
My Dad and I love to ride our bikes together, and we love to ride Waterfront Park. Sunday we rode from one end of the walk to the other. We anticipated that to be 35 city blocks - one way. What a beautiful ride it is, along the Ohio. We ate lunch at the new Tumbleweed on the river, and it was wonderful. We can hardly wait for the new Pedestrian bridge - we hope to be one of the first to ride across it! |
