Jefferson Development Group (JDG), owners of the building containing Schultz Florist, Penn Station and Sapporo Japanese Grill, want to tear down the house at 1950 Duker for expanded parking. This cannot happen 1) because they haven't considered other parking alternatives like making employees park on the street or in one of several nearby parking lots; 2) this will set a precedent for other businesses along Bardstown Road to do the same when they want more parking; and 3) it will hurt property values. JDH simply didn't do their homework three years ago - they overbuilt their commercial property and now want the people of Deer Park to now pick up the tab. Make your voice heard!
