As a new resident to the West St. Catherine Street area, I feel that two- way traffic will benifit me immensely. Initially, I had some problems finding my way around on our one-way streets. I almost lost sight of our Winn Dixie store completely after going all the way around the block because traffic was headed in the opposite direction of my destination. I can't help but feel, that if we had had two-way traffic in place at the time, I wouldn't have had nearly the difficulty in locating the Winn Dixie.

Additionally, what a blessing it will be when two-way traffic and parking on both sides of the street have led truck drivers to find alternate routes. Just think -- no more sounds of semi trucks rumbling down West Saint Catherine Street all hours of the day and night. Also, with slower traffic come fewer accidents. It just keeps getting better!

I foresee so many benefits in making the change in the traffic pattern for our residential street. To have parking on both sides of the street will be wonderful. I have always had to park over on Seventh Street, and walk around to my apartment. Now, I can park right out front, and living on the third floor as I do, it is great not having to carry the groceries so far.

What do you think? I, apparently, am convinced that we will definitely see a vast improvement in the quality of community life with the advent of two-way traffic on our street and in our neighborhood. If there are any negative effects to be gained with this change, you will have to point them out to me.
