Kroger
Hello Mary Jo- I've left several messages at Councilman Unseld's office, and am still awaiting a response. Today's article in the Metro Section of the Courier Journal about Louisville being one of the cities to receive an award (the largest) of Hope VI federal grant monies for rebuilding Clarksdale homes doesn't clear up things, but it's beginning to look more and more like we won't be getting the new Kroger store. Let's hope for the best, and, I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything definitive on the subject. Thanks for your concern, and have a great day!! Rhonda |

meetings approaching
Hi, Mary Jo Rhonda has been in touch with the Kroger people, who have renewed the lease option at 5th and Breckinridge. There are going to be a series of meetings regarding the future of the property (not like the last one, which was, in my opinion, an info-mercial for ''affordable housing''). We will let everyone know ahead of time, and we should show up IN FORCE. Our Councilman is behind our efforts, but it needs to be more than Mr. Unseld standing alone: we have to show a groundswell of support to balance a rather self-serving cadre that is willing to plan the future of a neighborhood that is not theirs. As I said, we'll let you know. Best wishes.... By Michael Williams |

Charge!
Please do let me know when and were this meeting will be held. Many residents at teh Chapel House and Friendship House have also said they do not want public housing at the site for fear of thier own safety. I am sure they would want to show up to have their voices heard also. By MAry Jo |
