What happened to the trees along Beechwood are just being trimed? I'm a little confused why our neighborhood council has voted to cut down such a beautiful tree line. I'm a resident that is going to be directly affected by this. I have to say that I'm very disappointed by this. My husband and I were out of town the night that this was voted on so we were unable to attend the meeting and express our opinion. But, I feel an issue that is going to directly affect our home we should have had the opputunity to do so before it was decided upon. Why weren't we notified that this vote was going to happen at this months meeting? Also, I would like to see something in writing by a professional that these trees need to be cut down! Where did the estimate come from that this whole project can be done for $20,000? I hope that we can come to another solution before we cut down so many old beautiful trees. I would also like to see the proposed plan of what would be going in after these trees are cleared out. I would hope that the council would let the neighbors that are going to have to look at the landscaping have a say in what is going to placed. One more thing, do the rest of the neighboorhood residents realize that their tax dollar money is going to pay to cut down trees that we aren't totally sure which ones are on private property or on city property? I think the land must be surveyed before we can move forward.

Not much more to be said. It would be nice if the mayor and council showed some real interest in how the residents (whose taxes pay them) before ramming through a vote. Not too much democracy here--being saved for Iraq?

Especially when its in your yard at least 15ft from the road. They just did it told us they were triming it back. but i guess they meant to the ground. the nosey neighbors can look all they want but they might not like what they see the next time.
