For several months now we have been asking for help from the police chief (personally spoke to previous chief Bob several times) and some council members regarding a neighbor at 4309 Westport Terrace repeatedly parking a car in the yard! Both front and back! We have tried to call the neighbor ourselves but the phone has been disconnected. We believe that the homeowner is not living there anymore but a daughter still is. The drive is always empty. On Christmas Day, we had to entertain while looking out the front door and window at the Honda once again in the middle of the front yard with not one car in the drive. Part of the backyard is now a muddy mess. We have also heard that the property may be going up for rent this spring. If this is the way they respect their property now, what will it be like as a rental. Will someone from the council please advise them of our city ordinance regarding parking?

I believe WP has measures in place to rectify your problem. We have a Code Enforcement Board, the Chair of that very board being one Bill Ritz. He can be reached at 893-7485. It is his responsibility and the responsibility of that board to look for violations such as those you mentioned regarding the ''parking on a non-paved surface.'' I am quite sure he is aware an ordinance pertaining to such a matter. I would suggest giving him a call. Keep us posted would you?

Thanks for your input. I just wish you would have left your name or email address. I am still living in the house though. Sorry. I did not know about the parking on non paved surfaces.
