The Graymoor-Devondale police would like you to be cautious about door-to-door solicitations. Sometimes the stories you hear are touching, but they may not be true.

Recently in the Moredale and Woolrich area, a woman was going from house to house late at night. She was asking for money to go to Ohio to rescue her children. She said her husband was locked up.

This was a scam. We do not have a good description of the woman, but she may have been driving a Ford Explorer. An unidentified small car was also noted in the area.

Please be very careful to whom you give money ?… and never let them in your home. Make sure your back door is locked when you answer the front door.
