Sound Barriers on Watterson

Posted in: Graymoor-Devondale
Do you see all the trees that are being cut down along the Watterson? North of Westport Road, there is no longer any protection from traffic noise and views. A car or truck could go out of contol and run right into a backyard.
If they build a sound barrier right at the Westport interchange, will it go all the way to the Fenley property? What kind of barrier? What will protect the peace and safety of the homes in Graymoor-Devondale?
Does the city have a plan of action? Do residents need to sign a petition? To whom? When? Where? How?
I hope some elected official responds with an article in the newsletter.

REPLY TO 'SOUND BARRIERS ON WATT

TREES ARE BEING REMOVED TO MAKE WAY FOR LONGER TURN LANE AND--A SOUND BARRIER THAT WILL NOW EXTEND TO BROWNSBORO RD.TYPE/KIND OF BARRIER WAS DISCUSSED AROUND JAN. 22nd AT CHURCH ON WESTPORT RD. MANY HIGHWAY FOLKS-INCLUDING ANDREA CLIFFORD-WERE PRESENT. WE FILLED OUT WHAT KIND OF BARRIER WE WANTED BEHIND GRAYMOOR-DEVONDALE. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND IT'S GOING TO BE AN ABSOLUTELY HUGE BENEFIT TO OUR CITY.
