I have concerns about the changes made to the midian of Fairmeadows Lane at the Ormsby Lane entrance to our subdivision. I would like to commend the council for addressing the drainage needs and dangerous ditches that were at Ormsby Lane. This particular part of the project was badly needed and appears to have been corrected in a successful manor.

I am very aggravated, however at the remainder of the project. We had a nice grassy median with trees and used to have beautiful begonias planted at the ends (work of former resident Liz Givan). Not only were the widening of the street, the installing of curbing and the new landscaping unnecessary, they have created an ugly approach to our neighborhood and one that does not go with the rest of the landscape. Children walking from the school bus stop are kicking the rocks and are sure to be throwing them soon. Rocks will surely end up in the lawns of all of us who live nearby and when lawnmowing season starts, we will have a new hazard. Since the curbing makes planting grass and mowing very difficult, could the rocks be removed and mulch spread around the plants? Something needs to be done!!!!!!!!!
