Societal System?
We have a societal system for raising our young. It is called culture. American culture is many faceted and not at all homogenous. It has to do with us coming from every corner of the world. In this so-called melting pot, we pick and discard as we go along. Kids don't come with an instruction book like a piece of equipment. As our knowledge of human behavior increases and our understanding grows, our methods change . You think they are bad now? Read Steven Crane Or Edith Wharton or better yet, some of the french Realists, if you really want to cry your heart out. Life can be very difficult or it can be a joy and/or a challenge. In this country, it is complicated but look at the mideast and see if that is what you want. You are looking for simplistic answers for very complex questions. That leads to nothing but trouble. The Taliban thinks the answer is to destroy Americans. Hitler thought the answer was to destroy the Jews. Got news for you. As long as humans exist, there will always be problems and the need to solve tham. there is no quick fix. It is a trial and error exercise. I personally do not see any sign of this socalled vendetta. You may not be getting life handed to you on a silver platter but then neither were those who have gone before you.
Quit feeling sorry for yourself, open your eyes and see what is around you and reach out YOUR hand to the older generation you think is mistreating you. You may get a hand of friendship back.
