On the morning of Tuesday, June 4, in Phase One, a partially eaten fox was found buried in a flower bed. It was obviously fresh, having been killed the night before.
The homeowner contacted DOW who informed them a mountain lion had probably killed and buried the fox for later consumption.
DOW has placed signs at the Cathy Fromme Prairie Trail entrances alerting users to the presence of Mountain Lions.
Previously a mountain lion had been sighted in the Tract D area, and between Fox Hills and Taft Canyon. Homeowners need to be aware of the animal's presence and take precautions out of doors. Please review the signage at the trail entrances and contact Colorado Division of Wildlife, 472-4300 for more information.
