It's been a long day. You spent six minutes trying to park in a spot that's about three inches bigger than your vehicle. You ordered a Wheat Beer, but you got a Pale
Ale (you think). You almost killed a woman walking her dog. And now, you can't find your bike.
You're not having a bad day in LoDo. But you are losing the 1999 Fox Sports News Rocky Mountain LoDo games!
This year, LDDI has created a fund-raising event that lets us laugh at ourselves and compete with each other. On Sunday, August 1, LDDI lets the games begin as co-ed
teams tackle a relay-oriented obstacle course that winds through LoDo.
The obstacles members must master before passing the baton are "typical" everyday urban challenges and include events such as:
* Close quarters - Park a golf cart into a very tight spot.
* Taste test - How many microbeers do you know? This blind-tasting lets you know for sure.
* Dodge all - Bike through an obstacle course of slow-walking pedestrians and dogs on leashes.
* Dunk 'em - Tired of the high parking prices during baseball games? Use your pitching skills to dunk local celebrities.
Join the Team
Form a team of 10 people and sponsor this event that benefits all of the members of LDDI and the neighborhood. Sponsorship opportunities include LoDo Lightweights,
Athletic Supporters and Corporate Conquerors. Call Dan du Bois at 303-628-5424 for information to compete-or volunteer-at the 1999 LoDo Games.
