2006 National Night Out

LGNA President, Kathryn Willison, wants to control everything about this neighborhood--even to the point of excluding neighbors who live in the neighborhood from attending their own neighborhood's Crime Watch's National Night Out event this year. Kathryn is a major control freak and feeds on the glory and power of being President of the neighborhood association.
During our past NNO event Ms. Willison insisted that the City of Dallas claim that the event was private so that she could control who came into the NNO event. As expected, Ms. Willison excluded all of our residents that had opposed any of Ms. Willison's views over the years.

LGNA is dead and they don't know it.

Attendance at LGNA's bi-monthly meetings are extremely low. The same 5 or 6 residents continually serve as directors and officers, year after year. The Association cannot seem to figure out that if they would change things, modernize their ways and embrace differing views, they might attract more membership. For the most part, their board members are all self serving, feeding on the glory and power of their self-imposed granduer or trying to promote their personal concerns or further their business contacts. Other nearby neighborhood associations have much larger attendance and participation, with an ever-changing slate of officers/directors because their associations encourage newcomers. Not LGNA. They want to control the show. As a result, even though they claim to control 3000+ residences, only about a dozen people usually attend their neighborhood association's meetings. And, of course half of those attendees are the officers/board members! LGNA wants us to think it is resident apethy. -- Sounds like excuses for poor leadership.

Check back with this site as we are planning to hold a meeting to discuss forming a new group-- A group of residents who are not interested in power or control, who just wanting to improve our neighborhood, work on crime control, alley conditions, new construction concerns, etc.
