Slight correction - I have since discovered that the ditch between Mooregate and Bellemeade is 100% Mooregate so those living on South Hampton own the ditch to the other side and are responsible for keeping it clean so water may flow freely as intended.

My Homeowners Insurance  pays for " clean up of trees and limbs felled by wind or the weight of ice "  It also is paying for removing those broken hanging limbs that could result in a subsequent greater loss.  It is in their interest to prevent those limbs from injuring someone or causing further damage.

Who do you have Homeowner Insurance with?  I've contacted mine and he said he's never heard of this before.

Thanks,

PCO

Fortunately for me, my insurance agent has.  The coverage description is in my policy in two places; one under "Debris Removal" and again in "Property Replacement."  I will be happy for you to read my policy for yourself.  It also has a clause providing for coverage of loss of food in my freezer/refrigerator at "fair market value" up to $1000.00 if a power loss originates outside of my residence.
