For those considering remodeling their homes or for those who just like to see how others live, the annual MENA Home Remodeling Tour is for you. This year?’s tour happened on Sunday, September 18, where hundreds of ticket holders viewed six recently remodeled homes.
The homes on the tour offer ideas and inspiration on how East Sacramento home owners have built, updated, upgraded, enlarged or converted their spaces to suit changes in needs, family size, and lifestyle. Each of the projects have dealt sensitively with the changes in appearance and use, keeping their neighbors involved in planning to maximize satisfaction of all effected by the project.
The home tour provides an opportunity to view some very attractive East Sacramento properties and is MENA?’s most important fund raising event. Proceeds from the 2005 tour will be applied to the Welcome to East Sacramento sign garden in McKinley Park at the corner of Alhambra and H Street, support for the American River Clean Up, donations to several community events, the Architectural Awards in 2005, McKinley Park improvements, including lights on the jogging trail, the McKinley Library book fund, and rent and meeting expenses at the Shepard Garden and Arts Center.
