2004 – 2005 MENA BOARD NOMINEES

Chris Haney -- civic interests include smart growth, in-fill development, and local business health, while keeping an eye on the protection of the serenity of the neighborhood.



Polly Sanders ?– a promoter of East Sacramento as one of the best places in the Sacramento region to live. Polly is a realtor with Coldwell Banker.



Cecily Hastings -- co-founder of the MENA in 1992 and publisher of Inside East Sacramento. Cecily has been the driving force behind dozens of community improvement projects.



Howard Schmidt ?– interested in land use. An attorney (with a Master?’s degree in Public Administration) whose professional background has included working for the California Legislature and holding positions on the County and Federal levels.



Michael Greene ?– has a special focus on community development ?– the bringing of people together to define and enhance their environment.



Rian Troth -- goals are to protect and preserve our neighborhood, as well as make it an even greater place to live and enjoy life.



Charles Moore -- has represented MENA on multiple community boards, agencies and projects for the past 9 years, including the M Street corridor project, the CSUS bicycle/pedestrian Access Project, Sutter?’s Landing Park, and number of other projects.



Victoria Pettaway ?— interested in preserving the beauty and heritage of the community as well as promoting change for improvement.



Ken Ives ?— a local home inspector and avid runner, is interested in residential housing issues and conditions and concerns regarding our local parks.



We?’re happy to introduce two new names for the MENA Board:



Jack Hagan ?— is interested in meeting and working with community members to improve the neighborhood. He and Sharon have recently moved to East Sac, selecting this location because of its neighborly feel.



Sharon Hagan ?— a California native, recognizes East Sacramento?’s architectural history and charm. Her goal is to promote volunteerism and community spirit. She and Jack have 5 children.
