The Area 1 Neighborhood Advisory Group (NAG) is a partnership between the City of Sacramento Neighborhood Services Department and neighborhood associations located in within the Department?’s Area 1. Area 1 is generally bounded on the north by the American River, on the south by I-80 and Highway 50, on the west by the Sacramento River, and on the east by Watt Avenue.
NAG meets on the 3rd Monday of every month at the Hart Senior Center at 28th & J, and is attended by representatives of approximately 25 neighborhood associations extending from Old Town Sacramento to the newly formed Newton Booth/Alhambra Triangle and from Alkili Flats to Campus Commons.
The Feb. 23 NAG Agenda included announcements about the Sutter Hospital expansion, the City Development Oversight Commission, and the City Alley Ordinance. These announcements were followed by presentations on Area 1 Police Activity, the residential portion of the CalPERS building project, and a overview of the Hoyt Company?’s plan for bridging I-5 to reconnect downtown with the Sacramento River-front.
The are two up-coming meetings that are of particular interest to MENA.
March 4 ?— 7:00 pm Citizen?’s Advisory Committee for the Department of Parks and Recreation to discuss current plans for parks improvements.
March 18 ?— 6:00 pm meeting at the Hart Senior Center to discuss street lights and lighting in Area 1
