2006-2008 MENA Board Elected

Three new faces joined the McKinley East Sacramento Neighborhood Association Board in April and eight board members were re-elected by the general membership. Board members will serve a two-year term and will be expected to attend all board meetings and take an active part in MENA?’s volunteer projects throughout the year, in addition to keeping themselves up-to-date on various land-use, crime and school issues affecting East Sacramento.
While Patrick Gage and Maurice Herbelin-Farrar are new to the MENA board, Lisa Schmidt has been officially elected to the board after serving as MENA?’s treasurer and dedicated volunteer. She will continue to carry out the duties of treasurer. Patrick is interested in traffic, pedestrian/bicycle safety, and maintaining neighborhood character and Maurice, an East Sac resident for six years, is the founder of ?“Stop & Smell the Roses Day.?”
At the April board meeting, the board also appointed Rian Troth as president, Nancy Cornelius as vice president and Emily Robbins as secretary. Joe Chavez, Rich Ciraulo, Cecily Hastings, Polly Sanders, and Steve Swindel were also re-elected to the board and will remain active chairing committees and organizing MENA?’s many events including the Remodel Home Tour, American River Clean-Up, and Park Restoration.
This year?’s election had its greatest participation to date, not only in the voter turnout, but also by those interested in being on the board.
The membership also elected to officially change the name of our neighborhood group from McKinley Elvas Neighborhood Alliance to McKinley East Sacramento Association.
