MENA needs your treasures for flea market on May 13

It is that time of year again?—time to clean out the closets and garage for a little Spring cleaning. What are you going to do with that Thigh Master you bought 15 years ago with all of the right intentions? When was the last time your kids used those saucer sleds? Gather up all of these goodies and donate them to the Neighborhood Association Group flea market on Saturday May 13.
MENA will once again be participating in this annual event hosted by NAG at the Marshall Park/Hart Senior Center at 27th and J Streets. The sale begins at 8 a.m. and raps up at noon. A pancake breakfast will also be served in the senior center for early risers. Proceeds from the pancake breakfast will go to the City of Sacramento?’s Area 1 Neighborhood Association Group to be used for future neighborhood activities and holiday decorations.
The breakfast is $4 for adults and $3 for kids 5 and under and seniors. Volunteers will be flapping the jacks from 8 am to 11 am.
Many other Sacramento City Area 1 non-profit organizations will be selling their wares and all proceeds go to the individual organizations. MENA will be using the funds raised to continue various beautification projects around East Sacramento and make donations to the McKinley Library book fund.
Please remember your gently used items should be in acceptable condition for the flea market ?– not for the trash. All individuals who donate will be able to request a tax receipt for their donation.
Please drop off your items at the MENA table in Marshall Park at 7:30 am on May 13. If you are unable to deliver the items yourself please call 452-4592 before May 13 and MENA will make arrangements to pick them up.
Volunteers are also needed at the tables the day of the sale to help sell and mark the items. Please contact MENA at the above phone number or email MENA@eastsac.org to help out on May 13.
