Treasurer Report ~ Dee McCandish ~ Our membership drive has produced
$248.00

Street Banner ~ Lamar Gunter ~ Cost is about $100 each. Lamar will
continue searching

Flyer Distribution ~ Cheryl Furr ~ We have 13 names on the list. We need
more. Call Cheryl (704.525.7434) if you can pass out some flyers every
other month.

Logo for flyer ~ Stephanie Hoffman ~ Passed around several logo styles.
Took a vote on which one we liked best. This will be used on our June
Flyer to be distributed soon.

Officer Chris Lyon ~ Our crime stats were not available due to the storm.
Officer Lyons pasted out a Safety Book with information on how to keep
your property safe and how to be safe your self. He also gave us several
tips on how to protect ourselves in several situations. The CMPD will be
monitoring speeding on Montford Drive for the next two weeks. If you
have any problems with speeding contact Officer Lyon and he will arrange
to have the area watched. His pager number is 704.518.8455. He also
told us about Jena Dickerson who is an inspector for our area. She is a
representative for Madison Park and can talk to you about issues such as
too high grass, trash, or cars in your neighbor's yards. Her number is
704.398.6762.

David Smith, General Manager of South Park District, Mecklenburg County
Park & Recreation spoke to us about the many, many parks in the county.
He also spoke to us about the many programs available through the Parks &
Rec. department. The web site is: www.parkandrec.com. If you have
questions on where to have a picnic, play baseball, fish or just take a
walk check the web site or call 704.643.3405. Don't forget that our very
own Marion Diehl has a heated indoor pool and a very nice outside picnic
area.

David talked about greenways that are being proposed by the City of
Charlotte. The Greenway Committee is headed up by Steve Law at
704.336.3854 and Chris Jackson of the Parks & Rec commission if you are
interested in finding out more.

We might even think about having our summer picnic with our neighbors in
Montclair at either Park Road Park or the Marion Diehl picnic area.

Ted Peters attended the Advisory Council meeting on Tuesday, April 23.
This is a meeting held every few months for different areas.

Eric Stenstrom and Debra Campbell attended the Smart Growth Initiative
Proposed Urban Street Design meeting on Tuesday, April 23. This was a
meeting to gather information on what we felt would be a good process in
developing and implementing guidelines for the future streets of the
city. It was the first of many more to come which will continue to
gather opinions.

If you can help in distributing the flyers please call either Debra
704.523.6163 or Cheryl at 704.525.7434. Every little bit will help. We
will bring the flyers to you. Good service!
