COPLOGIC--File a police report

Citizen Alert

Columbus Police Unveil New Internet Reporting System

The Columbus Division of Police announces the implementation of a new online reporting system.   The online reporting system, known as COPLOGIC, is a fast and simple way for citizens to file police reports. COPLOGIC will allow citizens with Internet access to file reports anytime, anywhere, without having an officer present. All information is securely transferred to the servers through an encrypted channel. Once the report is approved it will be saved as an official report and citizens will receive a copy of their report in PDF format.   The following types of reports can now be filed online:

  • Telephone Harassment
  • Identity Theft
  • Lost Property
  • Property Damage
  • Theft (Involving an amount less than $3,000)
  • Theft from a Motor Vehicle
  • Attempted Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Vandalism
The new technology allows citizens to file a police report without the hassle of waiting for an officer to show up at their homes or businesses. It will also save the Division of Police hundreds of man-hours every month. COPLOGIC has been operational since March 2009 and has accepted well over 400 reports.   For more information, or to make an online police report please visit www.columbuspolice.org .
