Our Block Watch is very active, painting out graffiti, having picnics, putting out newsletters, etc. We welcome new members and are currently in need of someone willing to be President. We also need neighbors who are willing to deliver newsletters once every other month.
We meet on the third Thursday of odd numbered months. Our meetings are held in the cafeteria of Manzanita School on 39th Avenue and Butler. Everyone is welcome, and pizza and soft drinks are offered. Guest speakers are always informative and interesting. We've learned how to prevent burglaries, how to identify gang signs, etc. If you have any ideas for future guest speakers, contact any board member. Numbers can be found on the newsletters that are uploaded to this site bi-monthly.
Like a lot of neighborhoods, Manzanita is constantly battling graffiti. The best way to discourage it is to cover it up as quickly as possible. The city of Phoenix gives us paint and supplies for free, and if you would like to have some paint so that you can keep up with your immediate vicinity, call Margie Anderson at 602-973-8907 and she will make sure you get some paint and supplies.
