LOL

''New stadium in Mesa that will destroy some homeowners dreams?''

That is too funny. Thanks for that. I needed a good laugh.

I used to live in that EXACT neighborhood for 7 years. Most of the people that live there are trying to move to a better neighborhood anyway. Many are rented homes, apartments, and condos.

For those that actually own and live in a home in that neighborhood - they purchased a home near a large UNDEVELOPED acreage of land. DOH! Didn't they have the foresight to see that something might be built there eventually?

This is an NFL stadium. There are 10 games a year including the preseason. The Super Bowl would only be here every 5-7 years for one day. The Fiesta Bowl - 1 day. Every once in awhile a Final Four - a weekend.

When not used for football, the field will be rolled out for kids to play on. No cost to Mesa, unlike the Rio Salado plan. But Mesa benefits with tax revenue and nationwide exposure? Oh no! Hang the politicians!! LOL

Those against the stadium are just people against progress. Rather than viewing Mesa as the 43rd largest city in the USA, these NIMBY's would rather revert to a one-horse little town.

Nobody said just because you smoke a cigar your street sucks, but nice sarcasm just the same.

The point of the original email was to think before you rip someone because the person's uncle had just passed away - it was not simply a gripe about dogs and cats and smokers.
Huh?

Just curious. Where did you get the idea that people will be able to play on the roll out field?

Field

It's been in the plans since the beginning. It may be for city sponsored leagues or something. I'm sure they want it used only for soccer or football and not goofing off or riding bikes across, etc. I'll try and find more info.
Thank you Brian

You are right, it seems that the main point has been lost somewhere, although I'm not sure how. I was not implying that people shouldn't have dogs or cats or harleys or smoke...because I have 3 of the 4 of those things myself. My point was...that people should think before you act...be an adult...be responsible. That's all I was trying to get across. :) I thank my neighbor wholeheartedly for sticking up for me and for trying to get those people to not have their animals crap on my lawn. Their reply and behavior to my neighbor was inappropriate and uncalled for. Yes, there was no way for these people to know what my family was going through, but they shouldn't have made assumptions and acted like that.

As a side note, I think the stadium sounds great! It's a money maker for the City of Mesa, good for everybody.
